Education & Experience

My early love of books came from Scholastic Book Fairs. I spent equal daylight and nocturnal hours pouring over that Scholastic magazine and circling the books I wanted. Getting the package a few weeks later was pure magic and I would read those pages until I became an expert in Clifford the Big Red Dog, The Black Stallion, or a Nancy Drew mystery.

Little did I know, my early investigations of books would lead to a career in law enforcement where my need to solve became a reality.

I have completed the Simon Fraser University (SFU) Editing Certificate program, creative writing courses at Kwantlen College University, and Renni Browne's Self-Editing workshop.

I completed three years of the SFU Criminology Bachelor Degree program before I was hired as a police officer where I graduated from The Justice Institute of BC.

I have also attended the Surrey International Writer's Conference (SIWC) since 2011 and attended seminars and masterclasses from the most generous and successful authors, editors, and publishers in the industry.

I have been privileged to beta-read and edit published and non-published authors on a NY Times and Canadian bestselling author's web-forum as well as authors from around the world.

I am a member of Editors Canada and The Federation of BC Writers.
